From Marley to Havana to Senegalese to faux locs, what’s the diff? We break it down for you.
Faux locs
Marley or Kanekalon hair will work, depending on the look you want. For goddess locs, human hair is often wrapped with the synthetic hair for a more natural look, giving the ends a soft, curly “Lisa Bonet” finish.
Senegalese Twists
For this service, you’ll want to use Kanekalon braiding hair, instead of Marley twist hair. Why? The latter delivers a smoother, shinier, and tighter finish which is why these twists are often nicknamed “rope twists.”
Havana Twists
A close cousin of Marley twists, Havana twists use the same types of hair, but you’ll just need more of it. Havana twists are typically braided larger and looser than Marley twists for a denser, fuller look.
